Our community is remarkable. In less than a half an hour, locals came together to help an 18 year old high school senior who lives on his own – he needs equipment to play a sport and since his earnings from his part-time restaurant job (he is a full time student also) barely take care of basic needs like rent, he did not have any funds to get the sports equipment. People gave $325, a free pair of new Nike cleats, and other great stuff. And then I just got a message from Open Arms Ministries that they would pay his rent for October so that he could have some relief and be able to purchase other things he needs. WOW.
